Like we’ve said before, breakfast can help you lose weight.  If, like many, eggs are part of your breakfast staple, you might be benefiting even more.

According to a research from the International Journal Of Obesity, taking two eggs every morning can help accelerate your weight loss efforts.  While we’ve all heard of people cautioning against excess egg yolk consumption, the study has turned up results that argue otherwise.

During the research, which enlisted overweight test subjects, participants were separated into two groups, both of whom ate an equivalent 340 calories each during breakfast.  One group ate two eggs (including the  yolk) while the other ate a single piece of bagel for the whole eight week duration of the experiment.

At the end of the study, the egg group reported higher energy levels day-to-day and tipped the scales 65% better than their bagel-eating counterparts.  Even more promising, the two month, two eggs a day diet, created no effect on either their cholesterol or triglyceride levels.

Eggs contain some of the highest quality of protein you can find in any food.  Over the years, many nutritionists have concluded that consuming similar types of protein early in the day, when your metabolism is at its peak, results in a feeling of fullness that leads to fewer hunger pangs throughout your waking hours.

While your parents (among other well-meaning folks) have probably cautioned you against the egg yolks, most modern studies, as with the above, have indicated that it does no harm taken moderately (yes, two eggs a day are moderate).  Those yellow yolks, after all, contain as much as half of the protein in each piece of egg - are you really going to throw all that away?
